Outside Fun, when the snow is fresh this winter in Calgary. We are lucky to live in Calgary for so many reasons… the best winter reason is Chinooks! We get snow AND mild winter temperatures that make being outside bearable. All it takes is a fresh snowfall after a Chinook to capture the magic and excitement of the first snowfall of the season all over again.

That feeling where you want to be outside in the white. Making tracks. Throwing snowballs. And living a winter catalogue life of joy and fun. So when those moments happen, I’m going to get outside and have some fun.

Progressive Winter Dinner

Time out with friends in the beltline

Walking through the quiet streets on a snowy night is the best. But what makes it better? Grabbing a bunch of friends and planning a night of walking, eating and visiting. Start with your favourite cocktail bar in the Beltline… maybe the Pig & Duke or Monki Bistro. Then plan a route where you move from one venue to the next. Drinks here. Appies there. Dinner somewhere else. Then on to another place for dessert. Perhaps another for a night cap with tunes. You’ll get to enjoy the winter magic of the city as well as warming up at every stop along the way.

Even Snow tubing at COP

I’m going to grab a bunch of friends and have some silly fun sliding down the runs at Canada Olympic Park. There’s nothing like that feeling of catching air on a snow tube to make you remember how much fun winter is. It’s only a Car2Go away (the Mercedes-Benz CLA seats 4).

Ice Skating at Olympic Plaza

I can’t imagine a more enjoyable way to spend a winter evening than skating downtown, with the holidays lights shining, the music and a light snow falling – magic!

And quite possibly the best part of getting outside for some fun in the winter? Coming back to your comfy warm apartment after it’s all over. Especially if you’re living at The Arch. It’s right where you want to be – in the heart of Calgary’s Beltline. And every apartment has amazing floor to ceiling windows perfect for watching the snow fly from the comfort of your bed or couch.

Have any more suggestions to add to my list? I’d love to hear them. Just put them in the comments below.
